Hi, I'm Alex!

I am a Canadian who was raised in New Mexico and Wisconsin. I spent 3 years studying art education at Northern Michigan University before transferring to UW-Madison, studying abroad in the Turks and Caicos Islands, and earning a Bachelors of Science in Art and Zoology. I grew up with a dad who couldn't avoid saying a pun if the opportunity arose, and a mum who danced through the house to whatever music was playing. A love of science and childlike sense of wonder were always encouraged. Ever since I started finger painting on the kitchen floor as a tiny child, my favorite activities have always involved working with my hands, getting messy, exploring the outdoors, and learning about animals and their anatomy. My family helped me learn to roll with the punches and find the joy in life's moments and I try to bring that attitude into everything I do.
